Manthey Racing (MR) has produced some of the fastest cars for Porsche around the Nurburgring Nordschleife. The tuning company specializes in turning Porsche models to become more track-ready, developing performance upgrade kits such as MR gurney flap, MR forged wheel set, and MR 3-way adjustable shocks. US 911 GT3 owners can even get their hands on Manthey parts for the first time.

Now, we may have an idea of which model MR is working on next to deliver an impressive track performance. CarSpyMedia has spotted the Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS doing hot laps at the Ring. But this time, the mid-engine sports car returned featuring the MR badge.

The Manthey Racing performance kit should bring non-engine-related upgrades to the standard 718 Cayman GT4 RS. While the package is yet to be launched, we can expect to see a reworked suspension, forged wheels, and brakes. In the video, the car was seen running around with new winglets and a massive rear wing with a swan-neck connection.

Since we are not expecting the MR package to increase the power output, the 4.0-liter naturally-aspirated flat-six engine should still make 492 horsepower and 331 lb-ft of torque. It sends power to the rear wheels via a Porsche Doppelkuppling (PDK) seven-speed automatic gearbox.

The standard Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS is capable of running from zero to 60 mph in 3.4 seconds. With the aero upgrades, the straight-line speed should be affected while the cornering performance around the Nurburgring should also be improved.

When Manthey Racing installed its aero kits to the Porsche 911 GT3 last June 2022, the sports car got the job done in 6:55.737, which was 4.19 seconds quicker than its standard version. The MR-branded 911 GT2 RS also holds the second-fastest lap record at the Green Hell with a 6:43.30 lap time.

One of the lap times to beat is 7:09.30 clocked by the non-MR 718 Cayman GT4 RS in 2021. We could see close to a sub-seven-minute lap time once the MR-kitted version goes full blast on the 12.9-mile track.
