Maserati rarely builds an ugly car; just look at the 2021 MC20 supercar or the elegant Maserati Quattroporte, but as with most other exotic car builders, buyers are demanding ever-increasing levels of customization. Brand's such as Porsche cater to its more exacting clientele via its "Exclusive Manufaktur" wing for added customization, and Mercedes-Benz has its "Designo Manufaktur Program". Maserati is aiming to join the craze with its Fuoriserie customization program, which the brand says will be "the blank sheet of paper on which customers can write their own stories, and will be the means of setting free their creativity."
To highlight what it can do, Maserati has introduced the Ghibli Hybrid Love Audacious, a Fuoriserie Edition co-created with William Chan, founder of the Chinese streetwear fashion brand CANOTWAIT_.
Maserati and William Chan use "Break the rules" as a call to action for this unique creation. The exterior of the Ghibli Hybrid Love Audacious is dominated by a new special exterior paint color called Digital Aurora. According to the team behind the car, this emotional color was born from the "sunrise and magical Aurora light", and features an experimental pink glass flake pigment that creates a digital effect in line with the current Phigital trend. To round off the striking exterior, the limited edition Ghibli Hybrid rolls on a set of Teseo 20-inch Wheels in Dark Miron, and also features customized badges from CANOTWAIT_ just above the iconic Maserati side vents. The interior also features exclusive badging.
Under the skin, the Ghibli Hybrid Love Audacious remains untouched and features a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder mated to a 48-volt alternator with an electric supercharger for a total power output of 330 horsepower and 331 lb-ft of torque. The Ghibli Hybrid Love Audacious is set to launch on May 20 (5/20) which is a set of Chinese numbers that mean "I love you". Initially, only eight of these cars will be produced, and the bad news is that the Ghibli Hybrid Love Audacious will only be sold in China.
