Maserati fixed a glaring oversight when it revealed the Levante Trofeo (and GTS) last year, giving its debut crossover the V8 engine it so richly deserved. Now it's revealed the special edition that will usher the super-ute to market.

Anchoring the Trident marque's lineup at the Geneva Motor Show next week, the Maserati Levante Trofeo Launch Edition comes in one of three unique shades: Blu Emozione Matte (blue, pictured), Giallo Modenese (yellow) or Rosso Magma (red). Either way, the paint job is offset by added carbon-fiber trim in the bumpers, side skirts, and hood.

The Launch Edition rides on 22-inch alloys (in matte or glossy black), with brake calipers painted silver, blue, yellow, or red. And the interior's done up in full-grain natural leather with blue, red, or yellow stitching.

Only 100 examples will be made, after which we can expect Maserati to open up the options list and put the Trofeo into regular production. With or without the special-edition treatment, though, the top version of the Levante packs a 3.8-liter twin-turbo V8 built by Ferrari to develop 582 horsepower and 538 lb-ft of torque, making it one of the most potent crossovers on the market.

Alongside the special crossover, the Modenese automaker will also showcase a Quattroporte and another Levante decked out inside with a special Pelletessuta woven leather from fashion partner Ermenegildo Zegna, which will also show off a new capsule collection of merchandise.

And to highlight the sports-car manufacturer that Maserati once was (and hopefully will be again), it will display a GranTurismo MC in a new shade of matte gray called Grigio Lava.
