With none of the usual pre-show hype, rumors and teasers, Maserati has just surprised New York Auto Show attendees with two special edition vehicles, the GranTurismo MC Centennial Edition coupe and convertible. Marking the marque's 100th anniversary, the cars come in two new colors (in addition to the existing four) finished in three-layer schemes: Magma Red and Inchiostro Blue. They also feature four new wheel choices and a special Centennial logo available in two colors.

The GranTurismo MC Centennial Edition features the stock 4.7-liter V8, but receives a 10 horsepower boost, totaling 454 horses. This engine is mated to a 6-speed ZF automatic, allowing it to reach a top speed of 185 mph. The interior is given a host of special edition goodies, like black, gray or white leather seats with special piping, which is also complemented by a matching steering wheel and carbon-fiber accents. The Centennial Edition will be available in July, 2014.
