Lexus claims its new LS460 F-Sport has the goods to take on the best from AMG and Alpina. Matt Farah goes for a test drive to see for himself.

We can all agree that Lexus is not exactly renowned as an enthusiast brand. But that's beginning to change as it continues its "relentless pursuit of perfection" in terms of both quality and luxury, as well as driving and performance experience. The Smoking Tire's Matt Farah has hit the road in the 2013 Lexus LF460 F-Sport full-size sedan to see how far Lexus has come. With German competitors like the Audi S8 and Mercedes-Benz S63 AMG, it's vital for the big new Lexus to have proper driving dynamics in order lure over potential buyers.

As Farah points out, the LS460 F-Sport, likes it predecessors, is flawless in terms of build quality, fit and finish. But the bigger question remains: does it deserve to wear that F-Sport badge and has Lexus finally found the ideal formula for absolute luxury, superior quality and high performance?
