Mazda Japan has created a confectionery treat that will surely excite the car lover in your life: a chocolate Mazda Miata. It was a Valentine's day gift that was sure to put roses and chocolate-covered strawberries to shame, though you probably weren't able to find this at the neighborhood supermarket.

This chocolate scale model was posted on social media by Mazda Japan and looks to have taken quite some time to put together. The little model consists of a chocolate Mazda Miata RF along with a bunch of other parts cast out of chocolate like the seats, exhaust, dashboard and steering wheel, suspension components, gearbox, windshield wipers, and even individual chocolate wheels. Chocolate BBS wheels perhaps?

Everything has then been carefully packaged in a white box with what we can only hope is a white chocolate version of the Mazda logo. It's an adorable creation and is most likely too good to eat. The Miata RF probably doesn't get as much love as it deserves next to its soft-topped brethren, so we're happy it's getting put in the chocolate-covered spotlight.

We recently drove the RF in 2022, and the car was as good as we ever could have remembered it even though it's eight years old. It's a love letter to a different time when sports cars were relatively cheap and simple, and it retains this nature while also giving as much driving pleasure as cars three times its price range.

Is it the fastest or sportiest car around? Not by a long shot, but in those areas, it makes up for in style and great dynamics. The car is essential to Mazda's brand ethos, which is why there are no plans to ever get rid of it. The car can be updated, electrified, or whatever else over time, but as long as it exists Mazda has its head in the right place.

The real question Mazda needs to answer is what cars is it going to turn into a chocolate treat next? Obviously, nothing else in its lineup has the charm of the Miata, but we still wouldn't mind seeing a chocolate Mazda 3 or even a chocolate CX-50.

Heck, they should make a chocolate 2024 CX-90 just so we can see a chocolate version of the brand's new inline-six. Then we propose the company starts making these in bulk and selling them around the holidays because it would essentially print the company money.
