Since it arrived in 1989, the Mazda MX-5 Miata has been a phenomenon. It is hard to argue with this statement because this year Mazda has built the one millionth Miata. The car in question is a right-hand-drive, Japanese-spec model with the smaller 1.5-liter engine. It rolled off the assembly line in Hiroshima on April 22nd of this year. The car will begin a cross-country road trip with 10 stops around the US. It will also be joined by the fifteenth Miata ever built, which debuted at the 1989 Chicago Auto Show. In typical Miata fashion, both cars are red.

The coolest part about the one millionth Miata is that at each stop on its tour, 240 Miata enthusiasts will be given the chance to sign their names on the car. We would love the chance to get our names on this historic model that will probably end up in a museum.
