We have a love-hate relationship with Mazda right now. We love that the company builds good looking, affordable cars that drive well enough to please enthusiasts. Even the company's SUVs like the CX-5 and CX-9 are pretty fun to drive. However, Mazda has been making a huge mistake in our minds by not building anything that really brings in true enthusiasts. Mazda has always had the Miata, but where are the turbocharged MazdaSpeed models and the rotary-powered sports coupe? Come on Mazda, just be cool already!

The company just released a new commercial where it compares the Mazda 6 to the latest Audi A4 and Mercedes C-Class. While the Mazda 6 is a nicely appointed car, it's not a true luxury competitor for the Audi or Mercedes by any stretch.

The Mazda 6 is much nicer to drive than competitors like the Honda Accord and Toyota Camry, but even those cars are available with more potent V6 engines. The Mazda 6 has only one engine choice, a 2.5-liter four-cylinder with a lackluster 184 horsepower. We already know that the turbocharged version of this engine found in the CX-9 will fit in the Mazda 6 and Mazda 3, but the company refuses to build them. In the CX-9, this engine produces 250 hp and 310 lb-ft of torque, which would be miraculous in the 3 and 6. If Mazda truly wants to be taken seriously as a luxury automaker, it better start offering some more powerful cars.
