S-Class Sedan

Only a few weeks after the debut of the beautiful Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe Concept at the Frankfurt Motor Show, our spy photographers caught a test mule of the new S63 AMG coupe as it was getting ready to launch sometime next year. While nothing was mentioned of it at the show, an S-Class convertible seemed like a very likely possibility considering just how gorgeous the coupe concept turned out and the favorable reaction it received. And now we can confirm that it will be happening.

A new report coming from Automotive News states that Mercedes product boss Thomas Weber stated that we can expect for the S-Class Coupe to arrive in early 2014 and that its convertible counterpart will follow it to showrooms about a year later. The convertible will come with a fabric top and will be powered by twin-turbocharged V8 and V12 engines. Amazingly, this will be the first convertible S-Class to go on sale since 1971. Expect for pricing to be well into the six-figure region.
