McLaren 720S Spotted Stunt Driving For Fast & Furious Spin-Off Movie

Looks like the McLaren 720S will feature prominently in the upcoming Fast & Furious spin-off film 'Hobbs & Shaw.'

The Fast & Furious franchise is now a staple of the action movie genre thanks to its ensemble cast and explosive, unapologetically over-the-top action sequences. It also gives gearheads a chance to see their favorite exotic cars burn rubber on the big screen. We recently learned that Hollywood star Idris Elba will be joining Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham as the villain in next year's Fast & Furious spin-off movie being directed by David Leitch, who also helmed Deadpool 2. But we're more interested in the cars that will feature in the film.

Filming is currently underway for the first Fast & Furious spin-off film simply titled 'Hobbs and Shaw.' Behind the scenes footage has emerged confirming that the McLaren 720S will feature prominently in one of the film's car chase scenes, in what will likely be the supercar's cinematic debut.

Footage shows the McLaren Super Series tearing around the streets of Glasgow with gun-wielding bad guys on Triumph motorcycles in pursuit. There's some excellent evasive driving on display as the 720S weaves through traffic and performs a forward 180 handbrake turn. The McLaren 720S is one of the most acclaimed supercars in recent years, so let's hope it gets treated with more respect in the film than the Lykan Hypersport that was launched off a skyscraper in Furious 7.

Hobbs & Shaw will star Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham, who will be reprising their roles as Agent Luke Hobbs and Deckard Shaw. The spin-off film is slated for release on August 2, 2019.

Fast & Furious 9 will then follow on April 10, 2020 after suffering a delay. Hopefully, it won't be too long until a trailer is released for Hobbs & Shaw showing the McLaren 720S in action.
