As we saw with the recent Lamborghini Aventador SVJ recall, even exotic supercars costing six figures can be affected by quality control issues. Maintaining and servicing a supercar to keep it in factory-fresh condition also isn't cheap after the initial warranty period, which is why Bugatti introduced its new Passeport Tranquillite service program for the Veyron and Chiron.

McLaren is also giving owners of the new Artura hybrid supercar peace of mind by offering a generous five-year/75,000 km (46,602 miles) vehicle warranty from the point of purchase, as well as a six-year/75,000km hybrid battery warranty and a ten-year/unlimited mileage body (anti-perforation) warranty.

These benefits will be offered as standard worldwide. Most regions including the UK will also be offered a five-year roadside assistance package.

To maintain its electrified twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V6, Artura owners will also be given a three-year service plan covering the cost of regular 12-month/15,000km/9,000-mile services. McLaren will cover the cost of oil and filter changes, replacing air filters for the engine and electric motor, brake fluid replenishment, and safety inspections, but customers will still be required to cover costs for components such as tires and brakes as well as fuel costs. McLaren's three-year service plan will not be available in the US, however.

"The all-new McLaren Artura was designed and engineered to perform at the highest level across the board, in electric power-only, zero-emission, urban commutes to weekend breaks, favorite-road drives and track day sessions," said Jamie Corstorphine, Product Strategy Director at McLaren Automotive.

"As well as setting new standards in the supercar class for performance and efficiency, it has a world-class warranty and service package to match, giving our customers peace-of-mind while they are enjoying their new high-performance hybrid supercar to the full." Pricing for the McLaren Artura starts at $225,000, with deliveries starting in Q3 this year.
