It's that time of year again where automakers gather at the Goodwood Festival of Speed to show off their latest and greatest models to the public. Over at the McLaren stand, the hot new attraction is the recently unveiled GT after it made its public debut in Monaco at Top Marques back in May.

However, attendees at Goodwood were able o see the McLaren GT in action for the first time as the gorgeous grand tourer tackled the famous Goodwood Hillclimb. We were able to get up close to the new GT, and it looks simply magnificent in the metal.

The McLaren GT is in a class of its own, sitting outside McLaren's existing Sports, Super, and Ultimate Series. Compared to other McLarens, the GT is more comfortable and more practical. For the first time, the GT utilizes the company's new MonoCell II-T monocoque, allowing for 14.8 cubic feet of cargo space in the trunk. The luxurious interior is also designed to keep occupants comfortable during long journeys, with heated seats unique to the McLaren GT that can be finished in Nappa leather, Alcantara, or Cashmere.

Despite its focus on comfort and practicality, the McLaren GT is no slouch in the performance department. Power is provided by a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 that sends 612 horsepower and 465 lb-ft of torque to the rear wheels via a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. This setup enables the McLaren GT to hit 0-62 mph in 3.1 seconds, 0-124 mph in 9.1 seconds, and reach a top speed of 203 mph.

McLaren is already accepting orders for the GT ahead of deliveries, which will start near the end of 2019. Pricing for the McLaren GT starts $210,000.
