McLaren Has Now Begun to Tease Us With its New Sports Series

And fortunately it's not called the Black Swan.

Late last week McLaren announced the name of its upcoming entry-level model and Porsche 911 fighter, the Sports Series. Previously codenamed P13, the new McLaren will very likely have its debut this March at Geneva. Until then, the UK automaker will tease us with brief images and a detail here and there. Oh wait, it’s already begun. The image you see here was just posted on McLaren’s official Facebook page. Although covered in camo, the LED headlight design does bear a resemblance to those on the 650S and P1.

Also note the sculpted hood and side skirts. We already know the Sports Series will be powered by the familiar twin-turbo 3.8-liter V8, although detuned this time around to produce at least 450 horsepower. A carbon fiber chassis, another McLaren hallmark, will be present as well. More details are surely on the way in the weeks and months ahead. Stay tuned.
