So here's another reason.
Owning a McLaren P1 GTR is very much an exclusive experience. Because it's not street legal, an owner's time behind the wheel is limited to the track. But leave it to McLaren to provide P1 GTR owners with that opportunity. The P1 GTR driver program has commenced for the first time and the venue was, obviously, ideal. The Circuit de Catalunya in Spain was where seven owners recently went to go out and play. Each had their own pit crew and staff, which included McLaren chief test driver Chris Goodwin.
One-on-one coaching with a pro always helps. "Every driver was close to the performance they showed on the simulator straight away, highlighting just how realistic the system is, and the bespoke nature of the program, ensured each driver was engaged with the training at their individual levels," stated Goodwin. Throughout the course of the three-day event, every driver's performance improved. For those P1 GTR owners who couldn't attend this event, they also have the opportunity to head to the Sepang International Circuit in Malaysia, Circuit of the Americas, Silverstone, Autodromo Nazionale Monza in Italy, Red Bull Ring in Austria, Spa-Francorchamps, Bahrain International Circuit and the Yas Marina in Abu Dhabi.
