McLaren P1 Lapped Ring in 6:30 Says Insider

Do we even care anymore?

With the McLaren P1, Porsche 918 Spyder and Ferrari LaFerrari all debuting in the same year, the battle of the hypercars was invariably going to be filtered down to which could lap the Nurburgring the quickest. So far only Porsche has put its balls on the line, posting a time of 6 min 57 sec. McLaren later retorted by claiming it too had broken the seven-minute barrier, albeit failed to reveal its time.

We suspected it would be quicker than Porsche’s hybrid hypercar, and according to a McLaren insider the P1 lapped the Ring in around 6 min 30 sec. If true, that makes it the undisputed King of the Ring for now. Over to you Ferrari.
