This September McLaren will celebrate its 50th anniversary. And so to mark the occasion, McLaren has produced a commemorative model dubbed the McLaren 50 12C, limited to 100 units split equally between the coupe and Spider. The British brand's bespoke department McLaren Special Operations (MSO) applied the unique styling and spec enhancements to the anniversary edition models, which come in Carbon Black, Supernova Silver and heritage McLaren Orange complete with McLaren 50 logos and carbon-fiber turning vanes.

Styling upgrades separating the 50 12C from the stock model include a HS Edition-inspired aero-optimized front bumper, which comes with carbon-fiber framed air intakes and topped by a black McLaren F1-inspired heritage badge fitted on the hood. Chassis upgrades include a race-derived carbon-Kevlar front floor, and carbon-ceramic brakes that sit behind bespoke McLaren 50 ultra-lightweight alloys finished in Satin Black staggered 19/20 inches front/rear. Inside, the anniversary edition models get a full leather upgrade, branded floor mats and sill panels and a dedication plate on the driver's door numbering each of the limited-run supercars.

The McLaren 50 12C is priced in the UK at £196,000 for the hardtop and £215,500 for the Spider. Upon receiving their special edition models buyers will be presented with a monogrammed black and silver car cover, a carbon-fiber presentation box housing a limited edition key, and a special print signed by McLaren's design chief Frank Stephenson.
