DragTimes' latest drag race video shows an unlikely matchup - a McLaren Senna going head-to-head against a Ferrari LaFerrari.

With the LaFerrari being a performance hybrid with a V12 engine and the Senna a twin-turbo V8, these two supercars have two different approaches to going fast. The LaFerrari was also discontinued in 2018, just in time for the first Senna to reach the US shores.

Then again, a matchup between a McLaren with a name inspired by arguably one of the best F1 drivers ever and a Ferrari named "The Ferrari" should excite any car nut.

The McLaren Senna packs a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 engine under the hood, producing 789 horsepower and 590 pound-feet of torque. With a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission and Pirelli Trofeo R tires gripping the track, the Senna was not just powerful but also highly sought after.

Meanwhile, the LaFerrari showcases a larger 6.3-liter V12 engine coupled with hybrid technology, resulting in a power output of 950 hp and 664 lb-ft of torque. It was called the "LaFerrari" because it was touted as the ultimate Ferrari. The numbers certainly back up that claim, and it was one of the best driving hybrids so far.

Despite the significant bump in power, the added weight from the hybrid system can become a determining factor, especially in a straight-line contest.

The race commenced with three quarter-mile drag races. While the Senna comes with newer tech and is lighter, the Ferrari LaFerrari is much more powerful. The results after three races might surprise you, so place your bets and then check them out.

Watching these two titans of supercar culture go at each other shows us that numbers are just one side of the coin in a race. Bigger isn't always better, and sometimes some old car cliches do not really hold up.
