Designed in collaboration with Peter Stevens, the designer of the McLaren F1, MSO has introduced a special edition McLaren 650S built to mark the 20th anniversary of the 1995 24 Hours of Le Mans, when five McLaren F1 GTRs crossed the finishing line in 1st, 3rd, 4th, 5th and 13th place. Inspired by the race-winning #59 F1 GTR, the McLaren 650S Le Mans Edition will be offered exclusively as a coupe with just 50 units slated for production.

Unique styling elements borrowed from the champion endurance racecar include a roof-mounted 'snorkel' air intake that channels airflow to the 3.8-liter twin-turbo V8 while creating some added aural pleasure in the cabin. Front wings receive sublte louvres, increasing downforce by reducing pressure on the front wheels, while distinctive 'Le Mans Edition' alloys – staggered 19/20 inches front/rear – are a nod to the motorsport rims fitted to the 1995 racers. Other style upgrades include a metallic Sarthe Gray paintjob with McLaren Orange highlights, MSO-developed side blades and rear diffuser, carbon-fiber front splitter and rear bumper, while the interior is upholstered in black leather and Alcantara with a Le Mans logo embossed on the headrests.

Available globally, the McLaren 650S Le Mans will come priced at £244,500 with buyers receiving an invitation to the carmaker's 20th anniversary celebration at Le Mans later this year.
