Last week, a train ended up smashing straight through a semi-truck that was transporting a McLaren 12C to get some repairs done, throwing the British supercar out of the trailer upon impact and leaving it mangled in a ditch with some $50,000 worth of damage. After getting stuck on the tracks in Orange Park, Florida, the trailer driver called 911 warning them he was about to get hit by a train and pleading with them to stop it.

Ryan Fung got out of the truck and crossed the street. Three minutes later, the train, moving slowly, struck the semi, pushing it down the tracks. While the train never derailed, as you can see the McLaren was left in pretty bad shape. The Florida Highway Patrol is now investigating, and have charged Fung with having insufficient undercarriage clearance when trying to cross railroad tracks where trucks are prohibited. Thankfully, the owner seems pretty copacetic about the incident. "It's replaceable, it's just nuts and bolts," said Dr. Jorg Bober. "It is what it is."
