Global reveal slated for the FOS.
McLaren has announced it will reveal a new "track-focused" car at next week's Goodwood Festival of Speed, teasing an image of what appears to be a new 650S-based GT3 race car. Although the carmaker recently green-lit a track-oriented P1, don't get excited. The side intakes on the darkened image clearly resemble those on the 650S. It could, however, be a track-focused variant of the 650S, similar to the 12C GT Sprint.
Whatever it is, we can see a race car with a large rear wing, lowered sports suspension, Pirelli tires and sponsorship by Mobil 1 and Tag Heuer. The new car will be revealed on June 27 when McLaren F1 driver Jenson Button will drive it up Goodwood's famous hillclimb. McLaren will also be showcasing an M7C F1 race car and a custom 650S by the MSO personalization department at the event.
