McLaren Won't Confirm P1's 7:04 Ring Time

Nurburgring

It’s quick, but not quick enough for the British hybrid supercar.

It’s no secret McLaren wants to break seven minutes at the Nurburgring. While we’re sure the P1 has what it takes to post a six-minute-something lap time, according to Bridge to Gantry it has only managed a 7:04. We say only, but that is a phenomenally quick time, demolishing the 7:12 posted by the Dodge Viper ACR that currently holds the top spot for road legal, production-spec cars. McLaren is not satisfied with this and so the lap time will not be confirmed. It shouldn’t take too long, however, for the million-dollar supercar to reach its sub-seven target.
