Mecum Auctions has recently had several highlights, but an upcoming auction promises to get even more attention. Coming to the Dallas auction that will start next week are a pair of incredibly low-mileage 2006 Ford GT supercars. One of the Ford GTs is the Tungsten grey with the dual stripes and only 513 miles on the clock, but the other is the Heritage Edition in the famous Gulf colors with only 420 miles on it. Both are incredibly low mileage, and both are sure to set some price records.

If you can't afford those two, don't worry, as there is a higher mileage white 2006 Ford GT will all the options. Beyond the trio of Ford GTs, there are Mustang Shelbys, a Dodge Daytona, and even late-model goodness like a nearly new 2022 Chevrolet Corvette.

Held at the monstrous Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center in Dallas, Mecum's auction will run for four days from 7-10 September. Why four days? Because approximately 1,500 muscle cars, classics, trucks, exotics, hot rods, and restomods will cross the auction block. If you attended last year's event, just know this will be better. In 2021, Mecum raked in $36.8 million with an 86% sell-through rate of the 1,100+ lots. With nearly 400 more this year, it will be a cracker.

Mecum Auctions has assembled a number of featured auction lots in its Mile High Collection. The curated collection of 27 cars is hitting the block with no reserve, which will attract bidders from all over the world, in person, and online.

This particular collection is a Ford overload. Of the 27 lots, only six aren't from the Blue Oval stable. These include a 20-mile Camaro ZL1 from 2021, a 2002 ZL1 GMMG of which just 69 were produced, and a pair of Dodge Challengers, one a demon and the other a Super Stock. Those are just some of the modern vehicles on the list, but if you're into classics, a 1957 Ford Thunderbird F-Code - one of 196 made - and a 1967 Ford Fairlane 500XL are sure to attract your attention.

The reason there is tons of old Ford content at Mecum Dallas 2022 is that there is a massive estate collection there. The Butler Estate Collection consists of nearly 230 old Fords. Mr. Butler took over 20 years to find them all, and now, they will all disappear in four days. Too numerous to list, the Butler collection consists of multiple 1933 and 1934 3-window coupes popular with the hot rod crowd, but we'll see if enough Boomers show up to buy them.

A few other muscle cars that got our attention were both old school and new school. The old timers consisted of a striking 1969 Dodge Daytona that was one of only 503 made in '69 and the car that inspired the Dodge Charger Daytona EV concept we see today.

Then there are a pair of 1969 Shelby GT500 fastbacks with 428 ci Cobra Jet V8s. Representing new school Ford muscle is a 2007 Ford Shelby GT-H 'vert with all the correct Hertz badging. It might have only 4,176 miles but also has the less desirable 4.6-liter V8, unlike the supercharged Hertz cars from recent times.

The auction will be broadcast on TV and streaming, but if you do go in person, the gates open up at 8:00 am daily.
