This Frenchman is responsible for some classic German designs.
The early Seventies saw some really excellent cars from BMW, and it was French designer, Paul Bracq who came over from Mercedes-Benz that designed them. This includes the E12 5 Series and the E21 3 Series, as well as the first concept car ever built by BMW: the Turbo Concept. The impact of this concept was huge, serving as the inspiration for the M1, the 8 Series and somewhat less glamorously, the Z1. All of which were built after Bracq had left.
That his influence was still felt so long after he left his post, is a testament to how well he achieved the timelessness he aimed for with his designs.
