If you like the BMW M8 Competition but feel that it could be made better with some parts from the new BMW M3 and M4, you're bang in luck. Special editions of new vehicles are becoming so frequent that they no longer feel special, but the latest from BMW is something that takes the M8 to another level. It's called the BMW M8 Competition Edition Pit Lane, but you may have to learn to say that in Romansh or German. That's because it's an exclusive model only available to Switzerland and Lichtenstein. But if you don't speak those languages already, don't bother trying to start now; just ten of these will be made.

Seven of the new editions will be based on the four-door Gran Coupe, with the remainder being based on the Cabriolet. BMW Individual special paint will be applied to all in Hockenheim silver metallic coloring, while 20-inch M Performance forged wheels much like those recently debuted for the new M3/M4 siblings add menace to the stance. The wheels are finished in Ferric gray matte paint and are complemented by multiple carbon-fiber enhancements on the body, from the diffuser to the wing mirrors and kidney grilles. More carbon is applied to areas like the fuel cap and engine cover for an even sportier look.

Inside, you get the new M carbon bucket seats trimmed in Sakhir Orange and Black. There's also a little plaque ahead of the iDrive controller denoting that the car is one of 10, and carbon paddles on the steering wheel tie in with more carbon on the interior trim elements. In terms of performance, you get the same 617 horsepower as regular Competition models, but you can use it with more frequency thanks to the standard inclusion of the M compound brake system. The first-ever Pit Lane M8 Comp will be displayed in Dielsdorf this month, but as for pricing, we have no clue. Regardless, we'd rather have an M5 CS.
