BMW will introduce the X5 Security Plus at the Moscow Motor Show later this month. Previewed in concept form last year in Frankfurt, the production model has been designed to provide the "highest requirements in the field" of passenger safety. That means safety glass, loads of protective armor and special protections seams. Without providing exact details, BMW confirmed the model will carry a VR6 protection class rating. Power comes from a 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 rated at 450 hp and 479 lb-ft of torque.
