Last year at the 2018 Detroit Auto Show, Infiniti showed off its Q Inspiration Concept, which was meant to preview a future electric sedan model. The Q Inspiration was followed up earlier this year at the 2019 Detroit Auto Show with the QX Inspiration Concept, which previewed a future electric SUV model, possibly a replacement for the QX70.

With the 2019 Shanghai Auto Show set to take place next week, Infiniti is showing off yet another electric concept meant to preview a future production car. It's called the Qs Inspiration Concept and this one looks a lot more production-ready than the others.

Infiniti says the Qs Inspiration Concept "offers a new perspective on the design and layout of the sports sedan, with an elevated driving position and high-performance electrified all-wheel drive (e-AWD) power." The elevated driving position reminds us of the recently revealed Polestar 2, which is also all-electric. Unlike the Q Inspiration Concept from two years ago, the Qs Inspiration has more traditional sedan proportions. Infiniti says its engineers worked hard to "adapt the mechanical layout and physical proportions of the car," while providing a "sense of elevation."

Only a few photos were included in Infiniti's release but a few more slipped into our possession, giving us a better look at the rear styling. The design looks like it could hit production with minimal changes but we can't tell if the concept has the signature trademark of most silly concept vehicles, suicide doors.

We should receive more details on the car next week on April 16th following the official reveal in Shanghai. Christian Meunier, Chairman of Infiniti, says: "For 30 years Infiniti has built a reputation for introducing new technology that delights and gives confidence to drivers. The age of electrification presents us with an opportunity to renew our credentials as an innovative challenger brand, ready to move quickly and decisively in this growing and exciting area of the market."
