The Focus ST and Fiesta ST hot hatchbacks are sorely missed in America. Now, the only models that receive the high-performance ST treatment stateside are the Edge ST crossover and the recently updated Explorer ST SUV. Outside of the US, however, the Focus ST continues to flourish. It's already one of the most thrilling hot hatchbacks on the market, but that hasn't stopped Ford from making it even better. Meet the Focus ST Edition, packed with a host of track-focused upgrades.

The most significant upgrade is a new adjustable suspension system. Developed by KW Automotive, it features two-way adjustable coilovers, twin-tube stainless steel damper housings, and powder-coated springs.

Compared to the standard Focus ST, the Focus ST Edition rides 0.3 inches lower to the ground and can be lowered by up to 0.7 inches. Spring rates are also increased by more than 50 percent. There's even a suspension setting optimized for Nurburgring. Ford says these improvements make the Focus ST Edition the "most agile Focus ST yet."

As standard, the Focus ST Edition rides on lightweight 19-inch alloy wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires, reducing the unsprung mass by ten percent at each corner. No modifications have been under the hood, however. Like the standard model, the Focus ST Edition is powered by a 2.3-liter EcoBoost turbo engine good for 280 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque, with power sent to the front wheels through a six-speed manual transmission.

This setup enables the Focus ST Edition to accelerate from 0-62 mph in 5.7 seconds and reach a top speed of 155 mph.

Visually, the Focus ST Edition is distinguished by its exclusive Azura Blue exterior paint with high gloss black accents, a black roof, and unique ST badging. Inside, the interior is enhanced with Recaro sports seats with blue stitching and a red ST starter button.

The Focus ST Edition will be available in "select European markets" including the UK, but Ford hasn't said if production will be limited. In the UK, the Focus ST Edition will be priced at £35,785 ($49,140).
