Only 36 examples will be built.
The Ford Transit Cargo Van is a reliable workhorse, but if you want to stand out on the road while transporting goods, design specialist MS-RT offers rally-inspired conversions of the popular Transit Custom and Transit Connect. Dubbed the R120, this latest rally-inspired Transit Connect from MS-RT is limited to only 30 examples in the UK priced at £25,995 ($34,684). An additional six units will be sold in Northern Ireland.
Available as a two or three-seater in short or long-wheelbase configurations, the limited-edition Transit Connect is finished in Frozen White with contrasting red and black rally decals and rides on specially designed white rally-inspired OZ Racing alloy wheels. Other exterior enhancements include a quad sports exhaust system with black exhaust tips and black mirror caps.
This will be one of the coolest Ford Transit Connect vans on the road, but it's a shame the performance doesn't match the van's appearance. MS-RT hasn't released any details about the powertrain, but it likely uses the same 1.5-liter diesel engine as the regular MS-RT Transit Connect producing 120 hp. At least it will sound sporty thanks to the tuner's Maxhaust system, which uses app-based technology to replicate the sound of a sports exhaust through integral speakers, "giving it a soundtrack to match its impressive road dynamics."
Additional equipment includes bi-xenon headlamps, Ford Pass Connect, cruise control, wireless charging pad, reversing rear camera, and dual sliding loading doors.
Leather seats with red contrast stitching matching the exterior decals are fitted inside the cabin along with a full carbon fiber sports steering wheel. MS-RT isn't planning to increase the production plan, which the tuner believes will turn this limited-edition sports van into a "future collectors item."
"The MS-RT Transit Connect has already been a huge success and we've developed the R120 in response to customer demand for something even more bespoke. The special edition model is sure to sell out very quickly and become an icon among fans of the MS-RT brand," said Edward Davies, MS-RT Founding Director. Each example will be built by hand at MS-RT's factory in Pontypool, Wales.
