C-Class Coupe

We've been enamored with Mercedes-Benz' M4 killer ever since Chris Harris dutifully took us for a spin around the Top Gear track in the C63 S. What the AMG-fettled C-Class doesn't need – despite the best efforts of Brabus – is more power, but that doesn't stop tuning companies giving the 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 exactly that. The latest German tuner to tempt C63 owners with something a little bit naughty is Schmidt, who've installed a performance kit, priced at 2,499 Euros, that ups output from 476 to 580 horsepower.

It also adds an additional 59 pound-feet of torque for a total of 538 lb-ft and removes the top speed limiter, enabling it reach beyond 180 mph. To handle the extra power, Schmidt offers a choice of either KW springs for 799 Euros or coilovers for 2,579 Euros, and a set of 20-inch FS-Line alloys wrapped in Michelin Pilot Super Sport for 5,900 Euros. The wheels are said to utilize Radinox, a very strong and ultra-lightweight stainless steel that also provides an unusually bright gloss finish. A high-speed Capristo exhaust with throttle valves is another 4,999-Euro consideration, and rounds off the upgrades nicely.
