AMG CLA 35

Mercedes-AMG loves spoilers and wings and always has. Just take a look at the wild AMG GTR. The company has made a big deal of adding venom to the styling of its cars over the years, and now the CLA 35 and CLA 45 are getting more extreme styling cues as part of an aero pack. While we doubt that the additional styling paraphernalia will make much difference to Nurburgring lap times, there's no denying that the beefier looks are guaranteed to draw attention. So what exactly does the new package bring to the table?

The new AMG Aerodynamics Package adds a subtle front splitter, slightly massaged rear aero vents, and a new rear diffuser with, surprisingly, just two exhaust tips instead of four. With the Aerodynamics Plus Package, you get the rear wing too. While the rest of the addenda are subtle and look just a little more aggressive than the regular setup, the rear wing is the piece that is likely to be loved and hated in equal measure. We don't think it looks too grotesque at all, but the flowing shape of the roof into the trunk is certainly interrupted with the addition.

So which would you choose? Add the full kit, install everything but the wing, or leave it alone? Whichever you choose, the CLA's performance is phenomenal and should be a worry for Audi S3 owners everywhere. Now for pricing. While we have no confirmation on whether these styling packs will be available in the States, we can tell you that the AMG Aerodynamics Package costs €1,487 while the Plus Package will set buyers back €2,737. At the current rate of exchange, that translates to $1,694 and $3,118 respectively. Here's hoping that the packages make their way here. Considering how much we love customizing cars in this country, it would seem silly not to offer them.
