Collaborators since 2007, Cigarette Racing and Mercedes-AMG continue to push the boundaries of performance, both on land and on water. The pairing has now released its 12th spectacular creation of one-off performance models at the 2020 Miami International Boat Show. This year, the stars are a 59' Tirranna AMG Edition performance boat and a Mercedes-AMG G63 Cigarette Edition, following on from pairings like this Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S 4-door Coupe and 41' AMG Carbon Edition.

As the stunning pictures demonstrate, the G63 SUV and the 59' Tirranna boat were evidently jointly developed, sharing similarly aggressive details like gold highlights and two-tone seats. "Since 2007, we've shared our passion for performance with the Cigarette Racing Team," said Tobias Moers, Chairman of the Board of Management of Mercedes-AMG GmbH. "For the first time ever, we followed a holistic design approach for both - the car and the boat."

Producing 2,700 horsepower (the boat, not the car), the Tirranna AMG Edition utilizes six 4.6-liter supercharged V8 outboard engines. These Mercury Racing 450R powerplants ensure a maximum speed of 80 mph, not bad when 26 people can be accommodated onboard. The G63 AMG's more modest 577 hp (from a 4.0-liter bi-turbo V8) is unchanged from the standard model's, so that means a 0-60 mph time of about 4.5 seconds.

The G63 is already one of the meanest SUVs in the world, but this Cigarette Edition screams even louder with 22-inch cross-spoke forged alloy wheels with striking gold accents. The exterior is finished in a black metallic hue and emblazoned with the same gold diamond pattern as the boat. AMG Night Package trim items like matte black side entry boards and exterior logos in a gloss black are other enhancements that set it apart from the regular G63.

Many modern Mercedes cabins have felt fit for a luxury yacht, so it's no surprise that both the G63 and the Tirranna boat have similarly luxurious cabins in a gorgeous combination of macchiato beige and dark blue. Due to practicality constraints, the G63 misses out on the Tirranna's California king-sized bed and enclosed bathroom, but the super SUV does get Nappa leather upholstery, special floor mats, and carbon-fiber treatment for the AMG performance steering wheel.

The super boat/super SUV marriage is an unusually appealing success, as we can imagine arriving for a sunset cruise in the Tirranna and heading home with the G63's bellowing V8 accompanying the trip. "Mercedes-AMG stands for Performance Luxury," said Gorden Wagener, Chief Design Officer Daimler AG. "The Tirranna AMG Edition is the perfect transfer of this principle to a boat."

To get a close-up look at the G63 Cigarette Edition's brutish exterior and the interior which was tailor-made in AMG's Affalterback performance studio, you can visit the Miami International Boat Show which runs from 13-17 February. The event takes place at the Miami Marine Stadium Park & Basin. Of course, you'll also be able to take in the 59' Tirranna AMG Edition in all its glory.
