This is the luxury GLE Coupe Maybach refuses to build.
Maybach sells ultra-luxury versions of the S-Class Sedan and the GLS SUV, but the GLE Coupe has never been given the super luxury treatment. Enter German aftermarket specialist Hofele Design, which has given the GLE Coupe an opulent makeover to fill the void.
Dubbed the Ultimate HGLE Coupe, the custom coupe/SUV features a classy Maybach-style two-tone exterior finished in Tiffany Rose Gold and Amaranto Brown chosen by the owner, complemented with chrome accents applied to the grille, window trim, tailpipes, and diffuser.
The opulent SUV rides on stylish 22-inch forged alloy wheels finished in the same Tiffany Rose Gold color as the exterior. Inside, the one-of-a-kind AMG GLE Coupe is upholstered in high-quality perforated Porcelain White Nappa leather and Anthracite Alcantara, diamond stitching, and contrast piping, resulting in Maybach levels of luxury.
Hofele hasn't made any mechanical changes under the hood, but the Ultimate HGLE Coupe isn't lacking in the power department. Since the custom coupe SUV is based on the Mercedes-AMG GLE 53 Coupe, power is provided by a 3.0-liter turbocharged straight-six engine pumping out 429 hp and 384 lb-ft, which is sent to all four wheels through a nine-speed automatic.
This setup enables the AMG GLE 53 Coupe to sprint 0-60 mph in 5.2 seconds and achieve a top speed of 155 mph. Hofele also offers Maybach-inspired versions of the regular Mercedes GLE Coupe and the range-topping AMG GLE 63 Coupe, as well as enhancements for the GLS, EQC, and E-Class Cabriolet.
It isn't known how much the owner paid for the bespoke GLE, but it couldn't have been cheap. For reference, a standard 2021 Mercedes-Benz AMG GLE 53 Coupe will set you back $76,500 before adding options, the owner likely paid six figures to own the next best thing to an official Mercedes-Maybach AMG GLE Coupe, putting it in a class of its own.
