Just a few days ahead of the new supercar's debut, Mercedes has revealed performance specs for the hotly-anticipated AMG-GT and provided a soundbite of its exhaust note. Having confirmed power will come from a new 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 generating up to 510 horsepower, the German carmaker has now announced the AMG-GT will boast a 0-62 mph time of 3.8 seconds and hit a top speed of 193 mph.

Putting those numbers in perspective, the outgoing SLS AMG was equally quick to 62 mph but topped out at an electronically-limited 197 mph. So there you have it. Not much else to learn about Mercedes' new flagship. All that's left is for us to see it, with the full reveal penciled in for September 9. In the meantime, listen to the exhaust note:
