Mercedes Begins Work on SL Facelift in Time for 2016 Reveal

Spy Shots

Design will be brought in line with the S Class Coupe.

Mercedes has given itself plenty of time to facelift the SL, with spy shots showing work has already started on a refresh with an anticipated 2016 reveal. Up front, it appears the SL will borrow the headlights from the S Class Coupe. However, the German carmaker has some work to do to make them fit. We also expect to see a new bumper and a newly-designed hood. Out back, thinner rear lights, a modified bumper and new exhaust pipes are all certainties. Hopefully, we’ll see these anticipated changes on a prototype by the end of the winter testing season.
