In order to celebrate 60 years of the S-Class Coupe (i.e. the CL-Class), Mercedes-Benz has just released full details and pictures of their new 'Grand Edition' CL-Class. While the name 'Grand Edition' sounds solid, there are no changes under the hood. Buyers will have a choice of either a 429hp twin-turbocharged 4.6-liter V6 from the CL550 or the 510hp twin-turbocharged 5.5-liter V12 from the CL600.

However, exterior and interior appointments have been significantly upgraded. These include a full AMG sport package which includes an aerodynamic kit, front and rear aprons and a set of side sills. Paint colors include platinum black metallic, mocha black metallic, and a matte magno cashmere white. Finished off with a set of massive 20-inch, 10-spoke aluminum wheels and unique Grand Edition badges, this massive coupe will be an even bigger presence on the road over the so-called 'standard' models. Interior details include upholstered seats in specially dyed leather, with a choice of three colors: Armagnac, light porcelain shade, and a deep black.

Buyers can also opt for their choice of wood trim, which ranges in everything from black ash to high-gloss walnut. For now, the Grand Editions are set only for the European market, so we don't have exact numbers for dollar-based pricing. However, expect to pay around an additional $6,400 on top of the CL's base price, which starts at $114,100 for the CL550 and $158,700 for the CL600. Such is the price of German uber luxury.
