These luxury sedan special editions take S-Class luxury to the next level.
Mercedes has announced four highly curated versions of the EQS 580 4MATIC Sedan and AMG EQS Sedan as Signature Edition models from its Manufaktur customization program that will come to the US in limited numbers.
The exclusive cars are, in Mercedes language, "appointed with the highest level of equipment and feature numerous exquisite details to appeal to the most discerning customer tastes." Running that through our Mercedes PR subtext translator, it also means they will be expensive.
The four special editions consist of two variations for each model of Mercedes' flagship luxury electric cars, basically variations in exterior and interior color combinations.
For the exterior, The Manufaktur Signature Editions use a custom paint process for Mercedes' Metallic, Non-Metallic, and Magno finishes. The four configurations use a unique combination of colors and finishes, giving the cars a distinctive appearance.
The configurations are made up of the following:
Silicon Grey Non-Metallic paint with Mystic Red Exclusive Nappa Leather or Rubellite Red Metallic paint with Deep White Exclusive Nappa Leather for the EQS 580 4MATIC Sedan.
Night Black Magno paint with Deep White Exclusive Nappa Leather or Kalahari Gold Magno paint with Deep White Exclusive Nappa Leather for the AMG EQS Sedan.
The paint is beautiful, but the Manufaktur Signature Edition EQS models mainly lean into the interior for luxury and next-level quality.
Interior features on all-four flavors include hand-stitched Manufaktur Signature Exclusive Nappa Leather on the seats, steering wheel, and armrest matched to high-pile floor mats with the Mercedes-Benz Star or AMG logo. The center console trim includes "Manufaktur" script in high-gloss chrome, and the Microfiber headrest pillows are embroidered with either Mercedes-Benz Star or the AMG logo. EQS 580 4MATIC models include a Rose Gold and High-Gloss Black key to further add to the exclusivity of these models.
Mercedes hasn't disclosed pricing or production numbers yet, but they will be expensive when they land in US dealerships in the spring of 2023.
