Unveiled in concept form at the Geneva Motor Show back in March, Mercedes has now confirmed the G500 4x4 Squared will enter production. This, of course, was never in doubt. But how much does the German marque want for the 6x6's little brother? A cool 226,100 Euros in Germany. The offroader has yet to be confirmed for the US. For that, buyers receive a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 rated at 422 hp and 450 lb-ft of torque, which is sent to all four 22-inch wheels wrapped in massive rubber.

It also boasts an adapted permanent AWD system, reduction transfer case, three differential locks and portal axes borrowed from the G63 AMG 6x6 that it replaces. Compared to regular G wagons, the 4x4 squared has a raised ride height of 450-mm. Expect a live reveal at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September.
