The Mercedes-Ben G-Class has been on the market since 1979 and only gets better with age. Originally designed as a military vehicle, it literally looks like a box on wheels. But don't let this old-school styling deceive you as the G-Class is not only an extremely capable off-road vehicle but also a very luxurious one. Recent updates have included updated side moldings, bits of chrome accents, and a new exhaust system.
It comes with a standard 5.5 liter V8 with 332 horsepower or an optional 5.5 liter super-charged V8 producing 500 horsepower. Transmission choices are either a five or seven-speed automatic. While comparisons to Land Rover and Hummer are numerous, the G-Class is in a world of its own. There is no other vehicle in production today that can make you feel like you're a super spy who needs to charge their way through traffic, boulders, and tall buildings to make your corporate board meeting in the nick of time.
