The Merc SLR still has some life left in its tired butterfly doors after all.
Platinum Motorsport has just released their aftermarket program for the Mercedes-Benz SLR. Though the coupe has been replaced by the gullwing SLS AMG, the guys at PM still wanted to prove that there is life in the old beaut' yet. George and Jack Keshishyan's company out of Los Angeles, California has created both cars, white and black, respectively, with aerodynamic pieces. Though the cars are not identical, each one has plenty to offer in terms of performance and aesthetic value.
Along with a Mansory Renovatio body kit and 20-inch Agetro M140 wheels, it uses a RENNtech engine upgrade program that gives the mighty SLR an output of 770 hp. It can run the quarter mile in 10.29 seconds at 134 mph, making it the fastest SLR ever. Both cars rock the butterfly-door angle, along with unique body kits that leave us wanting more.
