Mercedes CLA45 AMG Spied Testing

Spy Shots

Spy shots reveal AMG is getting its high-performance four-door coupe is ready for its 2014 launch.

The upcoming Mercedes-Benz CLA four-door coupe, based on the same MFA platform as the all-new A-Class and upcoming B-Class premium hatchbacks, will go on sale next year, and already Mercedes is working on a high-performance AMG version. This is the second time the vehicle (we expect) to be called the CLA45 AMG has been spied, although this time it's wearing less cladding, revealing the white bodywork underneath, including an aggressive front fascia with spoiler, side skirts and rear bumper with dual exhausts.

There's also a trunk-mounted spoiler, five-spoke alloys and what look like beefed-up, high-performance brakes. The A45 AMG hatchback won't be sold in the US, but the CLA45 AMG (which is longer and wider than the hatch) reportedly will, and it'll be packing the same 325-horsepower 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine in an all-wheel drive configuration. While we don't expect the Mercedes-Benz CLA45 AMG to make its way into showrooms until 2014, it is very likely that the hot four-door coupe could make its motor-show debut in production guise sometime in late 2013.
