They still look great.
2020 has been one of the most miserable years in recent memory, but the human spirit is still doing its best to conquer the hardships that have presented themselves in the last eleven months. Car manufacturers are trying to bring a bit of cheer with their Christmas marketing campaigns, and while some have taken a more traditional route, Mercedes-Benz and Mercedes-AMG have come up with a cute concept that warrants a few chuckles and fuzzy feelings. The manufacturer has taken some of its most iconic cars such as the G-Class Wagon, and Mercedes-AMG GT and has wrapped them in classic ugly-Christmas-sweater designs, and the internet is in love.
Everyone can recognize an ugly Christmas sweater from a mile away, and instead of being shunned by people, these kooky colors and patterns have actually gained popularity amongst trendsetters. Mercedes-Benz recently posted the two festive machines to its social media platforms and comes as an unexpectedly cheerful move from the German manufacturer. The company has also been providing some chuckles with its Crash Tales series on YouTube. The G-Class, a seriously capable off-road machine and luxury car is pictured here wearing what looks like Christmas wrapping paper, complete with green and red motifs.
The Mercedes-AMG GT on the other hand has gone for a wacky pink, white red, and orange color scheme that feels a bit more contemporary and features a Father Christmas wearing a red beanie and some 1980s ski glasses. Mercedes-Benz has not said whether customers will be able to buy cars wrapped in these funky designs, but we highly doubt it. The social media posts were accompanied by a heartfelt message to stay healthy and happy during this trying festive season. Mercedes-Benz promises to release more of these cool designs in the next few weeks. If anyone's asking, we wouldn't mind seeing the 2021 Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series dressed up as Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer.
