The ultimate Mercedes models typically wear an AMG or Maybach badge. But a German outfit called Hofele Design is proving that an aftermarket company can build one that's just as opulent. Hofele has already transformed the flagship GLS and the smaller GLE but has now turned its sights on the 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe. Say hello to the HGLE Coupe by Hofele, a bespoke creation based on the GLE Coupe.

Hofele will build an HGLE Coupe around any GLE model available. You can start with a GLE 400d, which is only sold in Europe and uses a 3.0-liter straight-six diesel engine producing 325 horsepower and 516 lb-ft of torque. Or, if you want something a bit faster, you could base yours on the GLE53 or GLE63 Coupe.

As with other creations from Hofele, the HGLE Coupe rocks a two-tone metallic Grey over Black paint scheme that looks reminiscent of a Maybach vehicle. At the front, a signature grille with redesigned chrome detailing bears some resemblance to the AMG Panamericana grille, but with a more luxurious motif. As you can see in the photos, multiple wheel options are available, ranging from 22- to 24-inches in size. Some of the wheel patterns look reminiscent of an AMG car, while others look as though they belong on a Maybach.

Inside, Hofele can transform the cabin with a near-limitless choice of colors, stitching, and perforation designs. Customers can select from modest interior upgrades, leather/Alcantara inserts from the AMG models, or the "Ultimate" series of interior enhancements by Hofele, which includes higher quality materials on every touchable surface. In the past five months alone, Hofele has announced projects based on the AMG E53 Cabriolet, EQC, G-Wagon, GLS, and GLE, but the company says it has more models coming soon.

Hofele did not provide specific pricing for the HGLE Coupe since the cost likely ranges widely depending on options. We would not expect a custom luxury car like this to come in at under $100,000, especially since the cheapest GLE Coupe in the US costs $76,500.
