Maybach already makes a hyper-luxurious GLS, but that hasn't stopped German tuning firm Hofele from putting its own spin on the full-size SUV. What you see here is called the Ultimate HGLS, and it's a gorgeously lavish upgrade from the regular Mercedes-Benz GLS. The body has been painted in a familiar two-tone finish, much like the Mercedes-Maybach GLS variant, and this indicates that it's a part of the brand's Ultimate Series. It also features 22-inch Mythos alloys in a chrome finish, and they don't look too outrageous at all. In fact, the overall look is less busy than that of the Maybach version.

As striking as the exterior is, the real magic of the conversion is inside. Stunning perforated and quilted Napa is draped across the seats, while the contrasting finish of Alcantara lines the roof and other panels. Piping edges add further contrast to the seats, while the floor features lambswool mats, much like you'd find in a Rolls-Royce Phantom. In the pictures supplied by Holfe, we see a very light color scheme, with whites and off-whites adding to the luxury ambiance of the HGLS. Naturally, you can select any sort of color scheme that suits you and makes you feel the most comfortable.

This conversion is available for whichever seating configuration you opt for on the regular GLS, so even those with large families can commute in the lap of luxury. Still, how many people know about the Holfe brand? Not that many. How many people know about Maybach? Also not a lot, but certainly more will have heard of Mercedes' luxury arm than of this tuning company. If that doesn't matter to you, this looks like a great alternative. If that doesn't work for you, the 2021 Mercedes-Maybach GLS will surely fill any void your luxury-loving heart could have.
