Of all the debuts at the Paris Motor Show this year, few were as shocking and electrifying as what Mercedes-Benz had in store. Representing the culmination of the development of the SLS E-Cell prototype, the German automaker unveiled the SLS AMG Electric Drive in front of a stunned crowd at the French auto exposition. The result is not only the most powerful and fastest electric car on the market, it is also the most powerful model AMG has ever produced.

That's saying a lot considering the vehicles AMG typically produces, but with 747 horsepower and 737 lb-ft of torque, the SLS Electric Drive has a lot to brag about. And brag it shall in this clip (and whole mess of new photos) that sum up what Mercedes has done to turn its flagship Gullwing supercar from a gas-guzzler into a super-EV.
