It looks like Mercedes-Benz is getting ready to launch its own massive ultra-luxury coupe, as in a car more massive than the biggest ones it currently makes. The automaker tweeted out a photo of a massive red coupe against a black background. The caption for the tweet read: "Hot & cool – Almost 6 meters of ultimate luxury." Six meters translates to about 19 feet, so it's safe to say this new coupe will measure at least a mammoth 18 feet in length. Mercedes didn't reveal any other details about the car aside from its side profile and length.

Although details are scarce, we should see the automaker's newest model in the metal next week during the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance. Hopefully then Mercedes will reveal what's under the hood. Our money is on a mammoth V12. Hell, even if the automaker doesn't give any new details on this car just seeing it should be enough. This thing is going to be packed to the gills with luxury. Mercedes is clearly sending a message to Bentley and Rolls-Royce that it too can create a gigantic two-door crammed with every luxury amenity known to man. Mercedes already kind of makes a car like this, the S-Class Coupe, but no one would argue that it's a true competitor for any of the two-doors made by the aforementioned English automakers.

Since the S-Class Coupe already exists expect this car to be branded as a Maybach. What'll be interesting to see is if this model, should it indeed be a Maybach, is an original design. The automaker currently offers the S-Class Maybach, but as you can tell by its name the luxury sedan is more of a trim level than a standalone model. Regardless of what it's called, we're looking forward to seeing all 18 feet of this thing at Pebble Beach next week.
