Spied just days after appearing in Beijing as the Coupe Concept SUV.
Having bowed in concept form in Beijing, the upcoming Mercerdes MLC has now been spied in prototype guise confirming what everyone already new – that the swoopy crossover concept was bound for production. It doesn't matter how much camo Mercedes put on this thing, the shape of the MLC is undeniable. Other design cues include the front fascia design and S-Coupe style taillights.
When the MLC enters production the current M-Class powerplants will do the motivating, including a 3.5-liter V6, 4.6-liter twin-turbo V8 and a 3.0-liter turbo-diesel V6. The concept came powered by a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6, so that could also make it to the production car. Don't rule out an AMG variant too, powered by the firm's ubiquitous 5.5-liter twin-turbo V8. As the MLC has been in development for quite some time now, a production car is hotly tipped to debut sometime this year, with the Paris Motor Show in October the most likely venue.
