Our spy photographer had to get out the long lens to capture the all-new and slighter bigger Mercedes GLK, as the German carmaker took out a prototype for testing. The copious amount of camo suggests the GLK is still in the early stages of development, but we can see the test mule is longer and wider than the current model (in order to accommodate the smaller GLA), boasting sportier proportions and what we imagine to be a coupe-like profile.

Improved dynamics and a roomier interior will enable the new GLK to better rival the BMW X3 and Audi Q5. The second-gen GLK will come with similar powerplants as the upcoming C-Class on which it's based. In the US this will likely include a new 1.8-liter turbo-four, while the new model will finally come with a right-hand configuration so it can enter new markets including the UK, Australia, and Japan.
