For those who feel the S63 AMG Coupe just isn't good enough.
It’s powered by a twin-turbo 6.0-liter V12 that produces 630 horsepower and 738 lb-ft of torque. 0-60 mph happens in just about four seconds flat and it’s got a top speed of 186 mph. No, this isn’t a Ferrari or Aston Martin; it’s the 2015 Mercedes-Benz S65 AMG Coupe. The German automaker has just released official details and photos of its latest grand tourer packing a mighty V12. All that power is sent directly to the rear wheels via a seven-speed automatic transmission.
Drivers have the option of choosing different gearbox settings, such as Controlled Efficiency, Sport, and Manual. As with any Mercedes, the S65 AMG Coupe is a display of uber high tech. Magic Body Control, a system that scans the road ahead and then adjusts the AMG sports suspension to minimize the impact of any undulations, comes as standard. Mercedes has also added a new curve tilting function that allows for smoother cornering. Riding on a set of massive 20-inch light alloy wheels, the car itself is handsome and has real presence. Quite frankly, there's really nothing else quite like it, at least from its direct German rivals.
The interior is loaded with features such as a head-up display, touchpad controller, steering assist with an autonomous driving feature, parking assist, and even a 360-degree view camera system. A Burmester premium sound system is also standard. Despite a rumor that floated around yesterday claiming the car would be available today at just over 244,000 Euros, pricing hasn’t been officially announced while Mercedes says that sales will begin in the coming weeks.
