Mercedes S-Class Coupe Coming to Geneva in S65 AMG Guise

Rumor

All-new models to closely copy S Coupe Concept’s styling.

Having been confirmed for launch later this year, word on the street is that a production-ready Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe will be presented at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show in March. The CL replacement will also be on show alongside a model in S65 AMG guise. Both will mirror the S Coupe Concept that debuted in Frankfurt last year, save for the headlights and side mirrors that Mercedes will modify for production.

The S Coupe will be powered by the same engines that motivate the S-Class Sedan. A 7G Tronic Plus transmission will initially transfer the power to the wheels, followed by a new developed 9G-Tronic nine-speed automatic box. S500 and S500 4MATIC variants are in the pipeline, as are an all-wheel-drive S63 AMG and the S65 AMG, which will be exclusively rear-wheel drive.
