Back in 1954, the Mercedes-Benz 300SL, more commonly known as the Gullwing, debuted, changing the world forever. Many argue that it was indeed the very first supercar. It was the fastest production road in the world at the time, after all. Over the decades, the German automaker has evolved the SL in terms of both styling and technology. While some may prefer the first and second generation models, others go for the SLs that appeared in the Eighties and Nineties.

But now Mercedes has launched the SL350. Not quite as exotic as the current gullwing wonder - the SLS AMG - the SL350 is still quite remarkable. It's not an all-out high-performance sports car because it's a heavy sucker, but perhaps it's the perfect embodiment of luxury living while driving.
